Jackson County Jail Roster Overview
The official Jackson County inmate search starts from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office Jail Division page, which links to the OffenderIndex roster. The roster is hosted by Eagle Advantage Solutions rather than a county domain, so the sheriff's link is the local source that validates it. The public page inspected for research showed no fee, subscription, or ordinary login requirement. It is built around current inmates, bookings over the last 24 hours, and inmates by booking date.
The roster covers Jackson County Jail custody. It is useful for a person recently booked into the Jefferson detention center, a person still awaiting first appearance or bond, or a person serving local jail time. It is not a full criminal-history database. It also is not the right search for adult male state offenders assigned to Jackson County Correctional Institution, even though that facility sits in the same county. Once a person has moved into state custody, use the Georgia Department of Corrections locator.
Use the Jackson County Inmate Roster
The roster source shows that name search is the main public path. A booking number, case number, or date of birth is not required in the visible controls. Last name is usually the strongest first search, while first name helps narrow common surnames. The booking-date tab can help when a person was arrested on a known date. The recent-booking tab is best for a new arrest, but no official refresh interval was posted.
- Open the sheriff-linked OffenderIndex roster and begin on Current Inmates.
- Search by last name, then add first name if the result list is broad.
- Use Bookings Over Last 24 Hours if the arrest just happened.
- Use Inmates by Booking Date when the arrest date is known or a wider date range is needed.
- Open or expand the result to read charges, bond, sentence fields, and other details when populated.
The public roster uses pagination. A missing name on the first page does not always mean the person is not in custody. Check spelling, search fewer fields, and page through the result list before switching to the jail phone line or a records request.
Jackson County Roster Search Fields
The inspected page source documents three main search views. The Current Inmates tab loads first. The recent-booking tab uses a window around the current date and is better described as recent bookings, not as a formal daily report. The booking-date tab has date pickers and a note that leaving both date boxes blank can view all inmates. A previous-inmate checkbox exists in source language but was not enabled for ordinary public historical searches.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Current Inmates | Tab | No | Default view for people held now |
| First Name | Text | No | Optional filter on current, recent, and date tabs |
| Last Name | Text | No | Best first search field for most users |
| Bookings Over Last 24 Hours | Tab | No | Recent-booking view from source configuration |
| Select Date Range | Date inputs | No | Start and stop date on booking-date tab |
| Include Previous Inmates | Checkbox | No | Source label exists, but previous inmates were configured off |
The Jackson County OffenderIndex roster screenshot from the manifest shows the tab layout used for current jail inmate records.
This image fits the roster workflow because it shows the public vendor interface linked from the sheriff's Jail Division page.
Jackson County Inmate Profile Fields
A Jackson County inmate profile can show booking and charge facts, but it also has public-view limits. The source enabled name, booked status, sex, height, weight, arrest date and time, days in jail, arresting officer, total bond, age, and inmate ID. Date of birth, address, location, and housing assignment were disabled in the inspected source. The source includes a photo container, but public photo display was configured off. That matters for users looking for mugshots.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name | First and last name in the row template |
| Status | BookedStatus or custody status label |
| Sex, Height, Weight | Basic descriptors shown in the public row |
| Arrest Date and Time | Booking-related arrest timing |
| Days In Jail | Custody-duration count |
| Arresting Officer | Officer field, when populated |
| Total Bond | Bond amount summary from the roster row |
| Charges | Warrant number, counts, statute, description, offense type, and court |
| Sentence | Sentence and release date fields when those values exist |
| Other | InmateID and age, while DOB and address are disabled |
Charge data on the roster is still a jail record, not the final court file. A charge may be amended, reduced, dismissed, or indicted differently after a prosecutor reviews the arrest. Court case status belongs in the Clerk of Courts system, while the roster answers current custody and booking questions.
Jackson County Jail Facilities
Two local facilities appear in the facility map, but they serve different record needs. Jackson County Jail is the custody site for new arrests and local jail records. Jackson County Correctional Institution is a GDC-system county correctional institution for adult male state offenders. Families should not assume the same roster covers both settings.

Jackson County Booking Process
After an arrest in Jackson County, the person is transported to Jackson County Jail for intake. Public sources do not publish a full booking manual, but the roster and sheriff annual report show the practical record path. Intake includes identity data, property handling, charges or warrants, arresting officer, custody status, health screening, and classification. The 2015 sheriff annual report referenced Booking and Release post assignments, inmate property handling goals, jail health-care access, and efforts to improve booking accuracy.
The first court checkpoint is the Magistrate Court first appearance. The official Magistrate page says every felony defendant and many misdemeanor defendants are brought before a magistrate within 48 hours of arrest. Hearings are held Monday through Saturday in a courtroom inside the Jackson County Jail. Bond may be addressed there. Misdemeanor and traffic prosecutions generally route to the Solicitor-General in State Court, while felony cases generally route to the Piedmont Judicial Circuit District Attorney in Superior Court.
Jackson County Jail Visitation Records
Visitation rules are tied to custody records because staff must confirm the inmate, the visitor, the relationship, and the visit time. The sheriff visitation policy says visitors age 16 or older must show proper photo ID. A visit is limited to two adult visitors at one time, and inmates may receive three 25-minute visits in a seven-day calendar week unless otherwise approved. No visit is scheduled less than 24 hours in advance. Cell phones are absolutely prohibited in the visitation area.
| Rule | Jackson County Detail |
|---|---|
| ID | Age 16 or older must show proper photo identification |
| Visit frequency | Three 25-minute visits in a seven-day calendar week unless approved otherwise |
| Visitors | Maximum two adult visitors at one time |
| Scheduling | No visit scheduled less than 24 hours in advance |
| Children | Under 17 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult |
| Cell phones | Absolutely prohibited in the visitation area |
The Jackson County visitation procedures source captured in the image manifest documents visitor limits, dress code, search rules, and visitor-list rules.
The visitation source is useful because the roster does not publish housing location, so scheduling and lobby checks still depend on jail staff.
Jackson County Records Request Fallback
If the roster does not answer the question, use the sheriff records and open-records process. The Sheriff's Administration page lists Records, Open Records Request, accident or incident reports, criminal history, and support services. The sheriff open-records form asks for the requester's name, contact information, records requested, date needed, number of copies, reason, extra details, signature, and date. Specific details help staff find the right jail, booking, or incident record.
For accident or incident reports, the sheriff page says complete reports may be requested by contacting the Sheriff's Office at 706-367-8718, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The general page cost is $0.10 per page unless otherwise noted, and payment is by money order or certified cashier's check from a local bank. Broader county open-records requests can involve search, retrieval, redaction, supervision time, and possible prepayment under Georgia law.
Find County, State, and Federal Inmates
The full access chain matters because people move. A Jackson County inmate may be on the county roster immediately after arrest, then move into court, bond out, transfer to GDC, or be held for another agency. GDC is the state sentenced-offender system. BOP is federal prison. ICE ODLS is immigration detention. VINELink can be used for custody-status alerts where Georgia participating data is available.
| Custody | Where to Look | What It Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Pretrial or local jail | Jackson County OffenderIndex roster | Current inmates, recent bookings, booking-date searches |
| Sentenced state offender | GDC offender query | Georgia prison and county correctional institution custody |
| Federal custody | BOP Inmate Locator | Federal inmates from 1982 forward |
| Immigration detention | ICE ODLS | ICE detainee lookup by A-number or biographical data |
Note: Confirm custody with the jail before sending mail, scheduling a visit, or relying on release information.
Contacting a Jackson County Inmate
Personal inmate mail uses the JailATM mail-processing route listed by the sheriff, not ordinary direct mail to the jail. The mailing format is JailATM.com, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, inmate name and inmate number, 925B Peachtree St. NE, Box 2062, Atlanta, GA 30309. Mail sent to the jail other than legal mail, money orders, and books will be returned to sender. Non-privileged mail may be monitored and used as evidence in court.
